LETTER: Looking ahead to continued success for progressive causes

Dear Friends,

As the Huttner Group celebrates our third anniversary this month, we want to thank you for your continued advice, support and friendship.

As greedy corporations spend tens of millions on elections and lobbyists in D.C., the need for communications and investment in progressive efforts has never been greater.

This is where the Huttner Group has its greatest impact. We provide communications and fundraising strategy for game-changing efforts across the country.

As we celebrate our success, I want to thank a few of our clients for the opportunity to work together with the shared purpose of building power:

Action Network was founded to address the imbalance of power between corporations and people. This effort empowers all people to wage comprehensive campaigns by providing unique, cutting-edge organizing technology that is more effective and powerful than ever before. The Action Network was recently nominated by the New Organizing Institute for Most Valuable Technology.

HMC Council, founded by Congressman Jared Polis, organizes a confidential annual retreat each summer with the rising stars of the progressive movement to discuss how best to build power. If you have the name of a top-notch person we should include in the future please let me know.

Mayors Against Illegal Guns was co-founded by Mayor Michael Bloomberg to combat the epidemic of gun violence across America. As the nation’s largest gun violence prevention advocacy organization, we are pleased that the organization now includes over 1,000 mayors in 46 states, and 1.5 million grassroots supporters.

ProgressNow just celebrated its 10th anniversary.

I was honored and humbled as this effort has grown from my personal email list of 700 friends, to organizations in 24 states with a combined membership of over 3.4 million people. Thank you to our Chair Ted Trimpa and our outgoing Executive Director Denise Cardinal and join me in welcoming the new incoming Executive Director Arshad Hasan.

Through these efforts, and others, we have connected with many of the most generous progressive philanthropists and foundations across the country and matched them with efforts to provide an opportunity to bring about real change.

This moment requires big ideas. If you have an idea or effort — innovative, disruptive, or otherwise — that you’d like to take to a whole new level, let’s discuss.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Michael Huttner
