Colorado Republicans welcome new senators-elect at party reception

Colorado Republicans gathered on Sept. 20 for a reception honoring their two new senators-elect — Bernie Herpin from Colorado Springs and George Rivera of Pueblo. The two Republicans were victors in the Sept. 10 recall elections of Sens. John Morse and Angela Giron.

Candidates for 2014 were also on hand as well as state central committee members who would be meeting the following morning to discuss party business.

Special guest of the evening was author Emily Miller, whose book “Emily Gets Her Gun” chronicled her efforts to secure a firearm in Washington, D.C.

Lori Greenstone, president of Colorado Voters for Animals joins with Edwin and Ruth Ehlers; he is a founder of the Mesa County Republican Party, and she is its chairwoman.
